Occupational Medicine Physician, Program Director 

UNC Health Pardee is seeking an Occupational Medicine Physician committed to providing high quality and compassionate care to patients, building a robust Occupational Medicine program, providing medical oversight and leadership to a multidisciplinary team.

Position Summary

UNC Health Pardee is offering an opportunity for an experienced full time Occupational Medicine physician to join a well-established team serving over 500 employers across more than 10 clinics. This employed role will serve in clinic settings with a multidisciplinary team that includes a physician, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, occupational medicine technicians, nurses, health coach, registered dietitian, certified medical assistants, mental health practitioners, pharmacists, and other business and industry professionals.  As part of a regional health system, collaboration with other physician colleagues is common place.  

Position expectations include:  

    Previous experience in occupational or employee health is required, minimum of 5 years; fellowship / certification is preferredExcellent clinical and interpersonal skillsCurrent knowledge of OSHA regulations, toxic-exposure protocols, worker’s compensation and injury and rehabilitation managementDOT substance abuse testing proceduresSupervision of other professional staff

Duties include: 

    General wellness services and examinations and diagnosis of chronic conditionsMedical care for minor episodic events, diagnosis and treatment of injured workers and subsequent management of rehabilitation treatment planspre-placement and physical examinations geared toward specific work dutiesadvising employer clients regarding occupational safetyProgram development, administrative duties, clinical quality oversight
