Working at Nassau County Correctional Center, you will be part of a strong, cohesive group of physicians, PAs, NPs, nurses, and ancillary staff. Health Services provides our Health Care workers with great, hands-on experience, managing the care of a diverse and often underserved population. Nassau University medical center provides strong benefits including enrollment in the NY state pension system.

Health Services at the Nassau County Correctional Center (NCCC) is operated by Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC). Health Services operates 24/7 with over 2,100 Health Care Provider (HCP) encounters each month. Providing emergency, non-emergency, chronic, and specialty care to incarcerated individuals, patients are seen throughout the day, much like an urgent care center combined with a primary care office. Specialty care services on site include OB/GYN, Podiatry, Orthopedic, Infectious Disease, Physical Therapy, Radiology services, Mental Health, Dental and Optometry. Overnight shifts primarily run by NP’s respond to emergencies such as shortness of breath, chest pain, potential over doses and acute illnesses. In addition, we have 24-hour access to consult with attending’s at Nassau University Medical Center.
