Maine Medical Partners is seeking a full-time full-scope generalist obstetrician gynecologist to lead the OB GYN Clinic at Bramhall, an outpatient practice within Division of Generalist Obstetrics and Gynecology in Portland, Maine at Maine Medical Center (MMC).
The physician will join our growing generalist division, currently composed of 8 generalists, 3 nocturnalists and 8 advanced care providers, who provide care at Maine Medical Center and two outpatient locations. This leadership position will focus on site director of our OB GYN Clinic which serves a dual mission of resident education through experienced preceptorship and as the community safety net for coverage-blind OB GYN care in the Greater Portland area, providing an inclusive environment sensitive to the needs of our community s immigrant, refugee, unhoused, limited-English speaking populations. The OB GYN Clinic at Bramhall is also the only clinic in the Greater Portland area offering integrated perinatal substance use disorder treatment.
This position requires providing clinical care in both outpatient and inpatient settings as a full scope OB GYN provider. Responsibilities include in-house shifts covering labor and delivery and gynecologic emergencies with an established nocturnalist coverage program, care for your own outpatient panel of patients, major gynecologic surgery including minimally-invasive hysterectomy, full-scope reproductive healthcare delivery and supervision in the residency outpatient clinic. A full-time position includes a 4-day work week with approximately 2 in house overnight call shifts per month. Current division members include physicians with focused practice designations in complex family planning, pediatric and adolescent gynecology and addiction medicine. Maine Medical Partners Obstetrics and Gynecology is a multi-specialty group of providers who offer sub-specialty health care services across the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology actively involved in research and education, as well as providing quality clinical care. In addition to the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology, sub-specialties include Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, and Urogynecology.
The department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Maine Medical Center has 28 employed faculty physicians and 14 advanced practice providers. The MMC obstetrics and gynecology residency program, founded in 1976, has a rich history of training the Obstetrics and Gynecology workforce of Maine and supports 16 post-graduate trainees. Candidates will have completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology and be board certified with a minimum of 3 years experience. In addition to excellent clinical skills, the ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal communication, demonstrated leadership and operational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment in a large, dynamic health system. The ideal candidate would have a strong interest in teaching (UME/GME) and experience with APGO/CREOG is preferred. The position involves an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.
