Associate Professor of Clinical X
The Department of Ophthalmology and the Francis I. Proctor Foundation is seeking an Associate Professor of Clinical X for a full time faculty position. The selected candidate will be appointed at the level of Associate in the Clinical X series depending on qualifications and interests.
Faculty in the Clinical X series are salaried appointees who teach, participate in patient care, and may participate in University and/or public service and scholarly and/or creative activities. Faculty in this series teach the application of basic sciences and the mastery of clinical procedures in all areas concerned with the care of patients. Major responsibilities include providing excellence in patient care, teaching, and having an established and funded research program in the area of infectious uveitis. Area of concentration should be within current goals and interests of Proctor, which include: international randomized clinical trials, global epidemiology, molecular epidemiology, infectious disease transmission, and other innovative methodological areas. The candidate should have demonstrated potential for outstanding academic contributions and is expected to lead a federally-funded research program. The faculty member will supervise and teach residents, fellows and medical students in uveitis.
Requirements:
Qualified candidate must hold an MD degree or equivalent, have completed residency training in ophthalmology followed by a uveitis fellowship, and have an established NIH-funded research program.
Preferred/Desirable Qualifications:
Two years of experience as an assistant professor in a department of ophthalmology at a major university.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5: https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2022-23/oct-2022-salary-scales/t5-summary.pdf. The minimum base salary range for this position is $153,800 - $194,000. The total negotiated salary for this position will include another component at the time of hire. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation
