The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) invites nominations and applications for the position of Executive Director of the Student Health Services.

Founded in 1824 in Charleston, MUSC is the oldest medical school in the South, as well as the state’s only integrated, academic health sciences center with a unique charge to serve the state through education, research, and patient care. Each year, MUSC educates and trains more than 3,000 students and more than 850 residents in six colleges: Dental Medicine, Graduate Studies, Health Professions, Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy. The state’s leader in obtaining biomedical research funds, in fiscal year 2019, MUSC set a new high, bringing in more than $328 million in total sponsored extramural funding.

Reporting to the Associate Provost for Education Innovation and Student Life, the Executive Director the Executive Director of the Student Health Services provides overall direction, leadership, management, and strategic vision to the clinic, including the delivery and assurance of the quality of clinical care and overall direction, training, and mentorship of the student health services staff. Additionally, the Executive Director serves as a faculty member within the College of Medicine, Division of Education Innovation and Student Life, and the University.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience as a primary care provide; possess an M.D. or D.O; be Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine and Pediatrics; possess demonstrated leadership and management in primary healthcare; have experience working in college student health settings or previous collaborative experience with an understanding of college health missions and programs; experience with public health and community health; the proven ability to conceptualize, develop, and implement large complex projects; the ability to gather data and analyze reports to make data-informed decisions; and the ability to interact comfortably and respectively with diverse individuals.

This is a full-time position that will be performed on site in South Carolina. Salary commensurate with experience with a generous benefits package.
