Job Description:

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Department of Urology based in scenic Charleston, South Carolina, is recruiting several positions to meet the growth of the area and our Health System.

The MUSC Department of Urology delivers the region s most comprehensive range of Urologic services, encompassing every Urologic subspecialty, with more than 30,000 patient encounters each year. The selected candidate will experience a busy, comprehensive office and surgical urology practice utilizing the full spectrum of technology, including robotics and laparoscopy. The typical practice week will consist of 2 to 3 days in a clinic setting and 1 to 2 days in the operating room. Academic Rank and appointment status will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

MUSC Urology Charleston has three faculty openings:

Pediatric Urologist

Seeking a Board Eligible / Board Certified pediatric urologist to join our pediatric urology program. The position includes outpatient care and ambulatory surgery performed at MUSC s state of the art Children s Ambulatory Center. Inpatient care and major surgeries, including access to Da Vinci Robotics, are performed at MUSC s 250-bed dedicated pediatric hospital. Our Pediatric Urologists have full support of MUSC s Pediatric Nephrology and Adult Urology Departments


Fellowship trained Urologic Oncology Surgeon

Seeking a Board Eligible / Board Certified fellowship-trained urologist to join our genitourinary oncology surgical team. Successful candidates should possess an interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques as well as complex open surgery and have research and academic interests or experience.


Fellowship trained FPRMS Urologist

Seeking a Board Eligible / Board Certified FPRMS fellowship-trained urologist to join our Bladder and Pelvic Health team. Successful candidates should possess an interest in the diagnosis, evaluation, surgical and non-surgical conditions of female and male pelvic floor including voiding dysfunction, incontinence (male and female), vaginal prolapse, neurogenic bladder, and urinary reconstruction and have research and academic interests or experience.

Candidates will have collaborative opportunities at Hollings Cancer Center (NCI-designation), the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center as well as MUSC s growing network of regional affiliates in South Carolina. Opportunities exist to participate in already established clinical and research programs at all locations as well as room to grow and design new programs. Urology faculty train our 15 residents, rotating medical students, our Minimally Invasive Oncology fellow, and our Bladder and Pelvic Health Fellow. We are devoted to training the next generation of young physicians, thereby delivering academically and clinically equipped leaders to the field of urology.
