This job requires access to confidential and sensitive patient information, requiring ongoing discretion and secure information management in compliance with HIPAA.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Licensure requirements of the state of practice
- Graduate of accredited MD program of accredited university
- Unrestricted DEA license for state of jurisdiction
- Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery
- Must be able to demonstrate that he/she has previously performed spinal procedures
- Maintain liability (Malpractice) protection with tail coverage
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English
- May be subject to a background investigation
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Maintain surgery center and hospital privileges
- Operative and non-operative care in spine surgery patients to diagnose, correct, treat or rehabilitate conditions, illnesses and injuries of the spine, the spinal cord, and the spinal nerves.
- Ordering/prescribing medications to treat patients
- Follow up on patient questions/messages
- Manage assigned Medical Assistant
Physical Requirements:
Stand for long periods of time while repeating the same movements or walking. Bending and twisting body to lift, push, and pull lightweight objects. Lift, carry, or move objects weighing up to 30 pounds. Stand for as much as 90% of work time. Reach above shoulder level in order to perform work. Move, adjust, and manipulate a variety of equipment. Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously.
Compensation:
$250,000 - $300,000
