General Cardiologist - Sign-on Bonus + 401(k) Match

Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is seeking a BE/BC cardiologist to join a very robust group. This position will split time between Sacramento and Elk Grove or Davis.

The comprehensive adult cardiovascular program at Sutter Medical Center Sacramento (SMCS) is an integral part of the Sutter Heart & Vascular Institute, which provides a full range of services from prevention, diagnosis, and treatment to a wide array of rehabilitation services. As a quaternary cardiovascular center that serves a large geographical area, SMCS houses a high-volume cardiovascular surgery program performing over 900 cases per year, vascular surgery program, advanced cardiovascular interventional program performing the full range of catheter-based coronary, vascular and valvular/structural heart procedures, electrophysiology/arrhythmia program, heart failure program, LVAD and heart transplant program, and ACHD program. Being an integrated adult and pediatric hospital, SMCS also houses a comprehensive pediatric heart program offering interventional, electrophysiological, and cardiothoracic surgical treatments.

Outside of the Bay Area, SMCS has the only heart transplant program in Northern California. In 2012, SMCS became just the second cardiac center in the nation to receive full Atrial Fibrillation Certification status from the Society of Chest Pain Centers. The SMCS Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program has also been awarded the ACHA ACHD Accredited Care Center status. SMCS is the only Northern California medical center named on Truven Health Analytics 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals for 2015, the third year in a row the Sutter hospital has received this honor. It is also the only California hospital to be honored under the category of Teaching Hospitals without Cardiovascular Residency Programs. Sutter Health however does have a Family Medicine Residency program and a Hospitalist Fellowship which allow teaching opportunities.
