Academic OB Laborist in Virginia
StartDate: ASAP

The Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS), Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, in the Norfolk-Virginia Beach region of Virginia, seeks an OBGYN-Laborist for a predominately clinical position. The successful candidate will join a large group that includes multiple labor and delivery physicians, MFMs, and generalists. Candidates must be board-eligible or certified in OBGYN and willing to practice in team-based perinatal care emphasizing safety, quality, and communication.

About EVMS, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is one of the leading departments of EVMS, providing advanced and comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic services to the community. Inpatient obstetrical care coverage is provided at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (SNGH), a quaternary-level hospital and flagship of Sentara Health Systems. Obstetrical care is shared between general obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine divisions and includes laborists, medical students, residents, and fellows actively participating in obstetrical care. SNGH is the high-risk obstetric referral hospital for Southeastern Virginia and Northern North Carolina, with about 3,500 deliveries annually and 650 maternal transports per year.
