Occupational Medicine + Medical Director Opportunity

Mount Carmel Health System one of the largest health systems in central Ohio is searching for a Physician and Medical Director for our Occupational Health Services located in Columbus.

Candidates should have an interest in Urgent/Primary Care and board certification in Occupational Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine.

This physician will function as a clinical leader, providing guidance, leadership, and oversight to the staff and will be responsible for the clinical staff including staffing models, medical staff hiring, orientation, scheduling, and on-going training and company educational programs. As a Medical Director, physician will assist in the creation and implementation of clinical and administrative policies and procedures. They will actively participate in and oversee the quality assurance, compliance, and utilization review programs.

The physician will evaluate, delineate, and manage routine physical examinations, injury treatments, ancillary services, wellness programs, and other complex medical problems which can arise from exposure to the varied hazards in the workplace. This includes identifying hazards, assessing risks to health, drafting recommendations for reducing those risks for individual worker rehabilitation, and performing work-relatedness evaluations to determine causality after apparent work-related disease development and performing impairment ratings in the disability evaluation process.
