Fellowship Trained Functional And Spine Neurosurgeon

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center seeks a Fellowship or other specialized training in epilepsy surgery and functional neurosurgery with interest in clinical trials

Capable and willing to cover general neurosurgery call responsibilities.

The Department of Neurosurgery consists of 7 neurosurgeons including a cerebrovascular neurosurgeons, a brain tumor surgeon, two non-operative spine pain specialists, and 12 advanced practitioners. The department has two junior residents and a full-time CAST-approved operative spine fellow. OR resources include Stealth cranial and O-arm navigation, neuromonitoring, and Leica and Zeiss Microscopes.

Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, a founding member of Lahey Health, is a tertiary care, 317-bed hospital with a Level II trauma center, and approximately 5,000 daily outpatient visits. We are a physician-led, multi-disciplinary group practice of 500 physicians delivering care in Burlington and Peabody as well as multiple community practice sites. The Lahey Health integrated delivery system consists of over 1,200 clinicians providing care throughout Lahey Health s network of acute care hospitals, ambulatory centers, physician practice sites, behavioral health facilities, long-term care facilities, and home health organizations. Located just north of Boston the area provides excellent school systems, abundant cultural activities in a world class city with convenient access to the mountains and seacoast throughout New England.

In March 2019, Lahey Health merged with four other local hospital organizations (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, New England Baptist, Mount Auburn and Anna Jacques) to form Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) making it the largest employer in Massachusetts. This health system consists of over 200 care locations including 13 hospitals with over 240 beds and 5 ambulatory surgery centers. Approximately 4,300 physicians are associated with BILH including 840 primary physicians managing 1.3 million patients. Located just north of Boston, the area provides excellent school systems, abundant cultural activities in a world class city and driving distance to the mountains and seacoast throughout New England.

Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is a major academic affiliate of Tufts Medical School. An academic promotion may be possible through Tufts University School of Medicine.
