Physician: Pulmonary/Critical Care. Physician, Pulmonary/Critical Care.  Must be ACGME fellowship trained or currently training in adult pulmonary and critical care medicine.  Must be ACGME fellowship trained in pulmonary and critical care medicine.  ABMS board certified in Internal Medicine.  Must have, or be eligible for, an unrestricted medical license in West Virginia.

Physician specializing in adult pulmonary and critical care medicine will strive to diagnose and treat adult patients with chronic pulmonary diseases, lung cancer, tuberculosis and asthma and other breathing disorders. Will also round and consult upon request on patients in hospital intensive care unit, performing procedures consistent with critical care medicine and allowed under hospital privileges, to include bronchoscopy and other ICU procedures.  Will educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources to the patients and families.  Determines level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointments based on accepted clinical standards in pulmonary medicine and consistent with the community standard.  Consults with other physicians involved in patient’s care to optimize course of action for treatment.  Orders studies, tests, and ancillary services to develop optimal, personalized treatment plans.  Documents all services in patient’s electronic medical record (currently EPIC based).  Reviews on a regular basis long term cases that require ongoing medical attention. As this is not an academic position, physician closely collaborates with, and, coordinates care with others in the community setting, including FM residents in training.  Participates in quality improvement, continuing education, and other patient care programs consistent with large community healthcare facilities, which may include medical students and/or FM residents.  Must be able to participate in both inpatient and outpatient office patient population in a hospital based comprehensive adult pulmonary and critical care medicine practice.  Consistent with facilities tax exempt status, physician will actively participate in community screenings, activities, and functions related to his/her specialty area to increase awareness, foster education, and community outreach.  Must be available to share call with other physicians to maintain uninterrupted access to practice patients who may need physician services outside of normal clinic operations.  Is expected to appropriately address requests for inpatient consultations consistent with medical staff bylaw requirements when asked.
