Hospital Medicine (MD)
Full Time
Position Type

We are looking forward to hiring a full-time Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Hospitalist to join our team of fifteen. The Rutland Regional Hospital Medicine program began in 2000 and has served the inpatient needs of our community in collaboration with our dedicated outpatient care partners. Our hospitalists work collaboratively with our many departments including a full spectrum of consulting services, a physician run closed ICU and a breath of support services from diagnostic imaging, pharmacy, and lab.

We enjoy a true partnership with our nursing colleagues who have achieved a three-time magnet designation for our hospital. Our daily team consists of four rounding physicians, two daytime admitting providers (1 physician and 1 APP) and one Nocturnist. Our daytime Hospitalists work a blend of rounding and admitting to total 14 shifts in 28 days with 2 weeks vacation. We employ 10 hour shifts from 7:00am-5:00pm for rounding and 11am-9pm for admitting and have no ICU or bedside procedure responsibility. Our rounding teams have an average daily census of 12-14 and we have an average number of daily admissions of 13 spread among the 3 admitting providers.

Rutland Regional Medical Center is an award-winning community hospital that serves central and southern Vermont. We employ a full range of Physicians, Case Managers, Therapists, Pharmacists, Dieticians, Social Workers, and Nursing staff to create a supportive team for our patients and our providers as they manage the health and wellbeing of our community.

The Hospital is located in the western valley of the Green Mountain range adjacent to Killington Ski Resort. Outdoor activities are abundant including access to top-rated skiing and winter sports as well as mountain biking, hiking, paddling, and a wide variety of outdoor activities in all seasons. Those looking for a quick get-away are within driving distance to multiple cities including New York, Boston, and Montreal. Transportation options include an airport as well as the Amtrak train. The Rutland region also boasts a highly-rated schools system with low student/teacher ratios which create a nurturing environment for kids and families to thrive.

Join us and see what it is like to live and work in a beautiful, and safe environment, as part of a well-run medical practice where every physician is valued and every patient receives world class care.
