Maine Medical Partners is seeking a full-time generalist obstetrician gynecologist to join our Division of Generalist Obstetrics and Gynecology in Portland, Maine at Maine Medical Center (MMC).
The physician will join our growing generalist division, currently composed of 8 generalists and 8 advanced care providers, who provide care at Maine Medical Center and two outpatient locations. This position requires providing clinical care in both outpatient and inpatient settings as a full scope OB GYN providers. Responsibilities include in house shifts covering labor and delivery and gynecologic emergencies with an established nocturnalist coverage program, care for your own outpatient panel of patients, major gynecologic surgery including minimally-invasive hysterectomy, full scope reproductive health care delivery and supervision in the residency outpatient clinic. A full-time position includes a 4-day work week with approximately 2 in house overnight call shifts per month. Current division members include physicians with focused practice designations in complex family planning, pediatric and adolescent gynecology and addiction medicine. Maine Medical Partners Obstetrics and Gynecology is a multi-specialty group of providers who offer sub-specialty health care services across the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology actively involved in research and education, as well as providing quality clinical care. In addition to the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology, sub-specialties include Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, and Urogynecology.
The department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Maine Medical Center has 28 employed faculty physicians and 14 advanced practice providers. The MMC obstetrics and gynecology residency program, founded in 1976, has a rich history of training the Obstetrics and Gynecology workforce of Maine and supports 16 post-graduate trainees. Candidates will have completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology and be board certified/board eligible. Well-qualified candidates will have excellent clinical and communication skills, and enjoy clinical care as well as teaching learners of all levels (UME/GME). The position involves an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.
