Obstetrician Gynecologist

Southern Maine Health Care (SMHC) is a non-profit, full-service community hospital with 125 acute care beds.  The physician will join a stable OB/GYN department with very low physician turnover.  We are seeking to add a physician to our group in response to the growing need for OB/GYN care in our community.  The group is currently composed of 7 generalist OB/GYN’s and 2 advanced care providers. 

Physicians practice the full range of general OB/GYN, providing outpatient OB and GYN care at offices in Biddeford, ME and Sanford, ME, performing a wide range of GYN surgery, and providing inpatient obstetrical care at Southern Maine Health Care.  A full time position includes a 4 day work week with overnight call approximately 1:7.  The group is strongly committed to physician wellness and providing a reasonable work/life balance.

SMHC has a strong connection with the University of New England medical school with third year medical students participating in rotations in OB/GYN in addition to our other specialties. 

SMHC also has a strong and collaborative relationship with Maine Medical Center, a tertiary care facility located in Portland, ME, allowing easy access to subspecialists in MFM, GYN Oncology, and Urogynecology.
