West Virginia University School of Medicine and the WVU Heart & Vascular Institute seek a non-invasive cardiologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will practice at Davis Medical Center in Elkins, WV, Summersville Regional Medical Center in Summersville, WV, and Braxton County Memorial Hospital in Gassaway, WV.

  • Davis Medical Center: 3-4 days per week with in-patient consults, clinic, and reads. 80-bed acute care hospital. 9-bed ICU, 24-private-bed medical/surgical, and 30-bed medical/surgical unit.
  • Summersville Regional Medical Center: 1-2 days per week with clinic, and echo, stress and EKG reads. 25 acute beds and 52 extended care beds.
  • Braxton County Memorial Hospital: 2-3 days per month in clinic and reading studies. Critical access hospital with 24-hour emergency care.

The successful candidate will practice in the area of non-invasive cardiology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites.

Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. The successful candidate must have completed an internal medicine residency program and a cardiovascular fellowship program. Additionally, successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in Cardiology disease. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
