Interventional Cardiologist

NEW Full-Time Position Available in Front Royal, Virginia

About the Position
WCVM is seeking an experienced Interventional Cardiologist to support a growing Heart and Vascular Program at the Warren Memorial Hospital (WMH). This is an ideal opportunity for a mid-career Interventional Cardiologist looking to make a strong impact on a developing, evolving program. The successful candidate should possess the ability to integrate a full range of knowledge and skills in both inpatient and outpatient cardiology. Frequent procedures performed include cardiac catheterization, coronary intervention, elective cardioversions, and transesophageal echocardiograms. The ability to interpret TEEs and a variety of other vascular and nuclear medicine studies is a plus. Skills in peripheral vascular angiography with intervention would be welcomed.

  • WCVM is a private practice, leased by Valley Health; Valley Health includes six hospitals, with WMH being the newest facility in the system; WMH is a fully-accredited ACC Chest Pain Center
  • WMH has its own state-of-the-art Cardiac Cath Lab, and WMH also offers comprehensive diagnostic cardiology and vascular imaging services
  • WMH has an attached multi-specialty medical office building, currently staffed with outpatient General Cardiologist and rotating Interventional Cardiologists who cover in-house consultations and in patient procedures, with the support of a full-time experienced Cardiology Advanced Practice Clinician
  • The Heart and Vascular Program at WMH has the potential for significant continued growth, with possible opportunity to perform higher-risk cases at the nearby Winchester Medical Center (WMC)
  • Valley Health s flagship hospital, WMC, has 9 Cardiac Cath/Interventional Radiology Labs including:

3 dedicated to Vascular Studies/Interventions; 2 dedicated to Electrophysiology Studies/Treatments; and

1 Hybrid OR/Cardiac Cath Lab for specific advanced procedures

  • Annually, the WMC program volume includes an approximate 1000+ PCIs, 160+ CABGs, 120+ transcatheter valves including TAVRs and MitraClips, 100+ WATCHMAN implants, and 60 +surgical valves

Qualifications

  • Current Doctor of Medicine Licensure in good standing through the Virginia DHP Board of Medicine
  • Board Certification in Interventional Cardiology through ABIM
  • U.S. DEA registration, with full prescriptive authority in the Commonwealth of VA
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the U.S.; sponsorship for employment-based visa status not available at this time
