Director of Outpatient Operations, Pulmonology - Fairfield County, CT

Join an academic and dynamic pulmonary division that offers the full extent of pulmonary and sleep medicine services. Committed to the personal and professional growth in a large free standing Children’s hospital.

The Pulmonary Division at Connect Children’s is seeking a Pulmonologist at full time capacity to manage the Fairfield County pulmonology office. The job includes:

  1. Provide outpatient care that will be concentrated in the area of Fairfield County.
  2. Inpatient care will be at the main Children’s Hospital location, in Hartford.
  3. Academic activities include multiple lectures and didactic sessions
  4. Teaching responsibilities are extended to the medical students, pediatric residents and the pulmonary fellow

The Division provides care for children up to 21 years of age with asthma, apnea, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, cystic fibrosis, airway abnormalities, neuromuscular disease, sleep disorders, chronic respiratory failure as well as other services.

A CF foundation accredited Cystic Fibrosis Center overseeing the care of about 100 children in a multidisciplinary setting.

Aerodigestive center in collaboration with GI, ENT and speech therapy, include once a week clinic and 3 days a month of combined procedures.

A state-of-the-art pulmonary function laboratory provides variety of testing, including spirometry, body plethysmography, methacholine challenge, cardiorespiratory adaptation and exercise provocation testing in children.

An additional sleep credential is highly desired, but not a must. The pulmonology division includes an accredited pediatric sleep center that includes a sleep psychologist, 2 board certified sleep physicians and a APRN, as well as a team of sleep technicians and respiratory therapists overlooking an 11 bed sleep lab. 

Extensive academic activity is available. A fellowship program is in place, as well as a weekly academic conferences and multiple options for research.

Requirements:

  • Fellowship trained board certified/board eligible Pediatric Pulmonologist
  • Must be board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics
  • Board certification in sleep is a plus, but not a requirement
