SUMMARY
Hennepin Healthcare System, Inc. (HHS) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is seeking board certified or board-eligible endocrinologist to join the Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Diabetes Division in the Department of Medicine. Candidate should demonstrate strong clinical abilities with a particular interest in the area of diabetes. Responsibilities include providing clinical care for patients referred to the Hennepin Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic, providing inpatient consultation, and educating medical students, residents, and fellows. Candidate should possess excellent clinical skills and a commitment to teaching.
The Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes Division has a clinical presence based at HHS, a 484-bed academic medical center that serves a diverse patient population in the city of downtown Minneapolis and is a primary teaching hospital for the University of Minnesota Medical School.
Candidate would be eligible for academic rank in the Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School commensurate with experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
- Must possess a current unrestricted license to practice Medicine in the State of Minnesota or be eligible for licensure
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in an ABMS recognized specialty, if applicable
- If Board Eligible, must be Board Certified within 4 years from the date of completion of the applicable residency, fellowship or training program
- Current D.E.A. Certificate or be eligible for certificate
- Current hospital credentials
- Current Life Support Certification or complete course within 2 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of electronic medical documentation system
- Knowledge and/or experience in organizational improvement processes or Lean/Six Sigma
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Knowledge of the techniques and practices applicable to field of training
- Knowledge of current literatures and developments applicable to field of training
- Knowledge and the equipment and tools used applicable to field of training
- Ability to conduct medical examinations in routine and emergent situations
- Ability to diagnose medical conditions and interpret findings to lay persons and professionals
- Ability to direct personnel in the delivery of medical care
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
License/ Certifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in an ABMS recognized specialty, if applicable
- May be requested to have or be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Minnesota
