The Department of Urologic Surgery at the VA Northern California Health Care System is recruiting for a faculty member with training in Genitourinary Reconstruction. Our department has a close association with UC Davis Department of Urology with shared faculty and residents. This appointment would be a full-time VA position with the opportunity to have an appointment in the UC Davis Department of Urologic surgery. This will allow engagement in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work to the extent desired by the applicant.
The successful candidate will have strong clinical and surgical skills in the area of reconstructive urology. Duties involve seeing general urology patients and doing reconstructive urologic surgery, such as urethroplasties, ureteral reimplants, reconstruction following cystectomy for cancer and treatment of peyronie’s disease. In addition to urologic care, the incumbent will engage in teaching and service activities and have the opportunity to engage in clinical research if desired.
The incumbent will provide teaching and supervision of medical students and residents and participate in appropriate professional societies and educational organizations. The incumbent must foster collegiality and work collaboratively in a diverse environment that fosters team science and multi-disciplinary patient care, adhere to VA policies and procedures and be sensitive to the needs of patients from diverse backgrounds. Thus, the ideal candidate would enjoy education and teaching and have an opportunity to apply for Volunteer Clinical Faculty (VCF) appointment to work with Residents from UC Davis School of Medicine training at our facility.
Work Schedule: 10-hour shifts/4 days per week; Call coverage required

Candidates must: 1) be a US citizen or PRA (Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with [38 U.S.C. § 7407(a)]; 2) possess a current, full, unrestricted medical license in any state, and 3) board prepared/certified in Urology and trained in Reconstructive Urology Preferred experience: Best qualified candidates will be Board Certified in specialty.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
