Physicians at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health provide a coordinated and holistic approach to care through our patient centered medical home model. We believe that care must incorporate all needs of the patient. This includes medically necessary before and after care services, as well as access to socio-economic resources in the community, to ensure their wellbeing as the ultimate path to recovery. Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a full-time board certified/board eligible General Surgeon to join the Lancaster General Health Physicians Surgical Group (LGHP SG). Our busy multispecialty group has eight General Surgeons, two Minimally Invasive Surgeons, four Vascular Surgeons, two Colorectal Surgeons and two Breast Surgeons. The group has four dedicated general surgery Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and two Vascular Surgery APPs facilitating daily rounds, servicing consults, and providing operative first assistance. We pride ourselves in our teamwork and strong supportive close knit group atmosphere. Our surgeons have a variety of experience levels and share responsibility for inpatient care at one hospital. Lancaster General Hospital is a modern 525 bed hospital with a full range of consulting physician specialists and Interventional Radiology services. Our operating rooms are equipped with full complement of equipment including access to DaVinci Xi robots. Operative privileges include Lancaster General Hospital and The Ambulatory Surgical Facility (ASF) within the Suburban Outpatient Pavilion (SOP). The outpatient office is located within the SOP and provides full office staff support with an excellent team of office manager, medical assistants, front desk staff, a dedicated physician assistant and experienced Registered Nurses. Our practice is the only General Surgery group within a large health system and network of referring primary care practices. We participate in excellent cancer care through subspecialty surgeon work in the Ann B Barshinger Cancer Institute (ABBCI). Our collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania Health System allows access to tertiary care and various other resources such as clinical trials and education opportunities. - Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Medicine (allopathic/osteopathic)
- Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency
- Possess or able to obtain an unrestricted PA medical license
- Board certified or board eligible
- Interest and experience in minimally invasive surgery desired
