VA Palo Alto consists of 3 inpatient facilities located at Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Livermore, in addition to 7 community-based outpatient clinics in San Jose, Capitola, Monterey, Stockton, Modesto, Sonora, and Fremont. We also offer 2 residential homes for Veterans in the Compensated Work Therapy program. VA Palo Alto operates close to 800 beds, including 3 nursing homes and a 100-bed homeless domiciliary, all to serve more than 67,000 enrolled Veterans.

The physician will be responsible for assessment and care of new and returning patients with any number of medical problems (e.g. hypertension, diabetes, ischemic heart disease, COPD, depression, chronic pain). The care may be delivered via face-to-face, telehealth or video visits though this position may require occasional travel to VISN medical centers or Community Based Outreach Clinics (CBOC. He/she is responsible for ordering diagnostics, consultations, medications and other therapies as medically indicated, meeting preventative health maintenance needs, completing all required VA computer documentation including clinical reminders and screenings in a timely manner. The incumbent's assigned duty station will be one of the sites of care within VA Palo Alto Health Care System. Telehealth and/or video visits may only be conducted from sites of care within the VA Palo Alto Health Care System or VA approved alternate work sites. He/she may also support the Call Center as well.

Benefits and Features
Expected Salary range for well qualified Primary Care will range from $225,990 - $243,000 per year
with consideration given to candidate's qualifications, credentials and experience; and may include up to $15,000 in Annual Performance Bonus. Selected candidate may be eligible to apply for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), and if approved, receive up to $200k in school loan repayment.

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
