The Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center located in Charleston SC, is recruiting for a full time board certified/board eligible Psychiatrist to join their dynamic healthcare team.
Psychiatrist will perform general psychiatric assessment and treatment in a multidisciplinary setting composed of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and peer-support specialists. Provide treatment to an adult psychiatric population with diverse diagnoses including major affective disorders, psychotic disorders, PTSD and substance related disorders.
The Mental Health Service is composed of Mental Health Primary Care, Behavioral Health Lab, Consultation Liaison Team, Mental Health Intensive Case Management and Intensive Outpatient Program for Substance Use Disorder. Collaboration and supervision of mid-levels will be expected.
Therapeutic and clinical services associated with this position will include medication management, treatment planning, and other specialized services as needed. The employee will work closely with his/her colleagues to provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art mental health care.
Facility also has an opening for a Division Chief of Inpatient and Emergency Psychiatry Services
Normal work schedule is Monday--Friday 8am-4:30pm.
Salary Range: $250k-$275k per year

Selected candidate may be eligible for student loan repayment through the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Participation is based on funds availability.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen of the United States (Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens.
Education: Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Licensure and Registration: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice in any state, territory or commonwealth of the United States, District of Columbia.
English Language Proficiency: Physicians, including residents, appointed to direct patient-care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English.
Physical Standards: Placement in this position is subject to meeting the physical requirements of this position. Pre-placement medical examination is required.
