The Division of Rheumatology at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) in St. Petersburg, Florida is seeking a fellowship trained pediatric rheumatologist to join our expanding program. JHACH is a 259-bed teaching hospital, ranked as a U.S. News & World Report Best Children’s Hospital (2022-2023) in multiple pediatric specialties. We are also ranked as the #1 Children’s Hospital in the Tampa Bay region. JHACH is the only US hospital outside the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. location that is part of the Johns Hopkins Medicine system. JHACH has built a strategic plan to become the premier clinical and academic pediatric health system in the southeastern United States. Physicians work within a dynamic academic environment located on an expanding clinical campus in St. Petersburg. The $100 million Johns Hopkins All Children’s Research and Education Building opened in 2018 and is home to our institutes, grant-funded scientists, innovative graduate medical education programs, cutting-edge Center for Medical Simulation and Innovative Education, and Florida’s only accredited pediatric biorepository.
The pediatric rheumatology program at JHACH provides the full spectrum of diagnoses and treatment for children of all ages with rheumatic diseases. The rheumatology team includes four board certified pediatric rheumatologists, two rheumatology nurse practitioners, a clinical nurse specialist and a fully supportive nursing and office staff. The Division provides consultative clinical care for a robust inpatient service as well as outpatient clinics. The pediatric rheumatologists collaborate actively with several other pediatric specialists at JHACH, to provide multidisciplinary care for our patients. The Division members are involved in clinical research including CARRA registry, sponsored drug trials and investigator- initiated research. The Division has dedicated Bed-Side Ultrasound and therapeutic joint injections programs. We provide rheumatology education through elective rotations to pediatric residents and adult rheumatology fellows. For our new attending, we are looking for a candidate who is Pediatric Rheumatology board certified or Board eligible, who will provide excellent clinical care and who has a keen interest in clinical/translational research.
Physicians at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital have two employment options. One is All Children’s Specialty Physicians (ACSP), a multispecialty physician practice that employs more than 200 physicians and other subspecialists who work at the hospital and support the architecture of the institutes and departments. The other employment option is through the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHUSOM). Full-time appointed faculty are employed by JHUSOM and are based in Florida. Part-time appointed faculty are employed by ACSP and are on a non-tenure track with the JHU School of Medicine.
