The Duke University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery seeks a BC/BE, Orthopaedic surgeon to join the Division of Adult Reconstruction. Ideal candidates will be fellowship trained in Adult Reconstruction (primary/revision hip and knee arthroplasty), and also have a strong interest in research and teaching. The clinical practice will be focused in Wake County, with in-patient surgical cases primarily performed at Duke Raleigh Hospital. The hired surgeon will also have access to a new surgical platform on that campus where arthroplasty cases will be performed in the outpatient setting. Call coverage would be in conjunction with Duke Orthopaedic physicians in Raleigh, currently a practice of fifteen orthopaedic surgeons and physiatrists that bring excellence to the greater Raleigh area with a wide array of orthopaedic services and the highest quality of care for patients of all ages. Practice members will also have an opportunity to practice at Duke University Hospital and our new Arringdon free-standing surgery center if interested. There are several outpatient clinic location options available to choose in the Wake County area.

Candidates with research aspirations can receive a university appointment and support across the broad range of research themes in the department. Specific interest in clinical outcomes research in hip and knee arthroplasty is a plus. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and training.

Since 1998, Duke Raleigh Hospital has been an important part of Duke Health. Its affiliation with a leading academic health system provides patients with access to the most advanced technology and medicine available. Duke Raleigh Hospital is recognized as the community leader for compassionate care with centers of clinical excellence in oncology, orthopaedics, neurosciences, and cardiovascular services.
