Vice Chair of Research

The Department of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Vice Chair of Research. The position is supported by a generous endowment. A successful applicant should be a seasoned researcher who will serve as the department’s research mission leader, reporting to the Chair of Family and Community Medicine. The ideal candidate will have previous academic leadership or management experience with a proven record of research and publication productivity. This position is supported by a generous endowment. This role will serve as an advisor to the department chair in strategic research planning, faculty recruitment, mentoring and retention, and subject matter expertise for the department’s research mission. Research focus on cancer control and prevention, substance use disorders (including tobacco cessation and alcohol misuse prevention), and health disparities are desired.

Minimum Requirements: MD, Ph.D., or comparable doctoral degree. Must meet Baylor College of Medicine appointment criteria for a tenured track senior-level faculty position.
