ACADEMIC PRIMARY CARE JOB OPENINGS / UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA

In alignment with the UVA Health System’s prioritization of Primary Care expansion, the Division of General, Geriatric, Palliative, and Hospital Medicine at the University of Virginia seeks candidates for multiple faculty positions in well-established outpatient clinics in Charlottesville, VA. Responsibilities will include an outpatient clinical practice and as well as supervision and teaching of medical students and residents. Rounding on the general medicine inpatient service two to four weeks per year may be an option.

Candidates must have an MD or DO, and be board-eligible/board-certified in Internal Medicine, and be committed to providing excellent patient care. These tenure ineligible faculty positions are designed for physicians focused on quality care, active clinical research, and teaching participation. Tenure ineligible positions may qualify to convert to tenure-track at an appropriate time in the future, consistent with the School of Medicine promotion and tenure guidelines and candidate qualifications.

Located on the central grounds of the UVA Health System, University Medical Associates (UMA) serves as the continuity practice for all 100 Department of Medicine (DOM) residents and is

the largest provider of indigent care in the community.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, UNIVERSITY PHYSICIANS CHARLOTTESVILLE – POSTING R0032367 (TI)

Located in the Fontaine Research Park, University Physicians Charlottesville (UPC), and serves as both a 3-week and +1 rotation site for Medical residents as well as a training site for medical students during the ambulatory portion of their internal medicine clerkship. UPC serves a largely insured patient population.

Located on the Peter Jefferson Parkway, Primary and Specialty Care Pantops provides both internal and family medicine including adult, obstetrics and pediatric care along with yoga, acupuncture, and nutrition services.
