Anesthesiologist - Sign on and relocation!!

Berkshire Health Systems is looking for a board-certified/board-eligible anesthesiologist at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA. We are a small, collegial group of anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, and anesthesia technicians. We are looking for a team player, who would like to practice in a care team model and who can perform solo cases on call.

This is a full-time position with home call. Approximately 6 calls are taken per month, split between first call and back-up call. The morning of and day after first call is off. Currently, we offer 8 weeks vacation.

Clinical practice at BMC is an engaging mix of orthopedic, general, urology, plastics, ENT, obstetrics, and neurosurgery. There is no cardiac and occasional pediatrics. Fairly heavy regional exposure with anesthesiologists doing their own blocks. BMC is associated with UMass so there are opportunities for academic involvement if desired.

Berkshire Medical Center is a 300 bed facility and the flagship hospital of Berkshire Health Systems. It serves the majority of the surgical needs of Berkshire County, which has a population of 120,000. BMC is a Level 3 trauma center.

Berkshire County is a beautiful, affordable, family-friendly area that combines the best of rural living with many of the cultural amenities of urban life. Quality of life really is good here. Within a 30-minute drive of the hospital there are multiple towns and small cities each with their own flavor, offering world class museums, music, theater, dance, education, and outdoor activities, such as hiking, boating, cycling, and skiing. Wake up to go paddle-boarding in the morning and then take in the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood in the evening.
