The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified provider in Hematology Oncology. The opportunity provides the ability to care for a diverse population of patients that have served this great Nation.

The Augusta Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center (CNVAMC) is a level 1a, medical school affiliated, two-division Medical Center that provides tertiary care in Medicine, Surgery, Specialty Care, Neurology, Psychiatry, Physical Medicine and Rehab, Primary Care, Geriatrics, and a dedicated Spinal Cord Institute serving a multi-state catchment area. The Medical Center is affiliated with the Augusta University [AU], in Augusta, GA and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical center, integrating clinical care, teaching, and research, making it an attractive academic and research Medical Center.

This is a full-time Physician position at Department of Veteran Affairs in Augusta Georgia that affords work-life balance, job security, a competitive salary, moving expenses, malpractice coverage, up to 26 days paid vacation, 11`days paid Federal Holidays, a sick leave benefit, 401K, CME opportunities, and a first-class health and retirement benefit package.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. Management reserves the ability to change schedule based on facility needs.

Functions:

  • Participate in an effective clinical program with attention to patient outcome indicators.
  • Practice within the scope of assigned privileges.
  • Comply with the bylaws, rules and regulations of the facility and agency.
  • Meet medical staff criteria for initial appointment and reappointment, including ongoing CME.
  • Identifies patients' health problems and designs diagnostic and therapeutic plans to meet their needs.
  • Resolves problems affecting patient care and provides appropriate education for the patient and/or family members regarding the patient's illness and its management.
