Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG), a 500-provider multispecialty group practice, is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Neuro Interventional Radiologist to join its growing Neuroscience specialty practice located in Boise, Idaho.
Saint Alphonsus is the principal provider of advanced, innovative, and interdisciplinary neurological services, and is the only Regional Level II Trauma Center and TSE State designated Comprehensive Stroke Center. In January 2023, we will open the State's only Neuro ICU with Fellowship trained Neuro Intensivists.
As the regional provider of advanced neurological services, Saint Alphonsus neuro interventional radiologists have the opportunity to provide care for patients with complex neurovascular conditions to include comprehensive stroke and other endovascular services, complex spine conditions, spine and brain trauma, a variety of neuro-oncology diagnoses, as well as elective cases.
The schedule for this full-time opportunity is a traditional work week plus call and hospital responsibilities that include evenings and weekends. Call is shared equally with members of the Neurosurgery Department.
The Saint Alphonsus Neuroscience Institute promotes collaboration with a team of neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, vascular neurologists, neurologists, neuropathologists, neuro-ophthalmologists, physiatrists, oncologists, and neuro-otolaryngologists. Saint Alphonsus has a well-established interventional neuroradiology service that includes biplane angiography, MRI MRA, CT/CTA, CT perfusion, 4-vessel angiography, and interventional stroke and aneurysm procedures. Work in conjunction with medical and radiation oncologists and the area s only Novalis Stereotactic Radiosurgery suite as well as first in PNW to provide Gamma Tile neoplasm surgical treatment.
Support for the practice is bolstered by a full complement of specialists including hospitalists, intensivists, and in 2023 the addition of Fellowship trained Neuro Intensivists. Saint Alphonsus Health System unified its EMR to EPIC Care Everywhere in both inpatient and outpatient setting in March 2022. Saint Alphonsus Health System (SAHS) is the regional leader in telemedicine innovation and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to integrate the use of telemedicine into their practice to reach and better serve outlying communities.
Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise currently has 44 critical care beds including a 22-bed Trauma Neurosurgery, Stroke and Medical ICU, a 10 bed CVICU, and 10 bed CICU. This opportunity will lead, support, and develop a new Neuroscience Center of Excellence which will include a new 18 bed Neuro and Trauma ICU and 17 neuroscience step-down beds. This is a new bed model expansion with a target open date of February 2023.
Requirements for this opportunity include:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
- Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA residency program in one of the following specialties: Neurology, Internal Medicine, Neurosurgery, Anesthesia, or Emergency Medicine
- Successful completion of an accredited Fellowship program in Interventional and Diagnostic Neuroradiology or Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology
- Obtain Idaho and Oregon medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC Boise and other health system affiliated hospitals as needed
- Valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy & DEA
