Responsibilities
The Rheumatology Research Center of Excellence in the Research Program of Arthritis and Clinical Immunology at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) seeks to understand roles of the immune system in health and disease. With a new expansion underway, we invite qualified candidates to apply for a clinician or clinical investigator position. We are currently recruiting at the Clinical Assistant/Associate or Assistant/Associate Member level (Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor equivalent), but talented candidates at all levels are encouraged to apply and will be considered.

As a private, non-profit research institution, our clinical activities are focused in systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases and in offering outstanding, science-driven clinical care. Most patients are offered the opportunity to participate in longitudinal cohorts and/or clinical trials. The Rheumatology Research Center of Excellence provides high-quality care to systemic autoimmune rheumatic disease patients, regardless of pay source (or lack of pay source). A robust referral system exists, specifically of patients with systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases. A multi-disciplinary clinic is available which includes ophthalmology and dental chairs, infusion suite, 6 additional exam rooms, musculoskeletal ultrasound and a rheumatic disease imaging suite is currently under construction. Arthritis and Clinical Immunology investigators have access to a number of outstanding OMRF core facilities, including CAP-CLIA certified clinical immunology laboratory (autoantibody testing), CAP-certified Biorepository, Sample Procurement and Processing, Human Immune Phenotyping, Clinical, Flow Cytometry, Imaging and state-of-the-art clinical facilities. Extensive autoimmune disease and control sample collections are also available. Successful candidates will receive a generous, multi-year start-up package with significant ongoing salary and scholarly activity support. Clinical trial training will also be available to interested candidates.

Qualifications
Successful candidates must have terminal degree training in Internal Medicine/Rheumatology (MD or MD-PhD, DO, DO-PhD), be board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine/Rheumatology, licensed to practice in the US (and ideally Oklahoma), have received additional training in caring for patients with rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and/or Sjögren’s, in good standing, and have a passion for caring for patients with autoimmune disease and participating as a critical part of a strong, multidisciplinary team. Successful clinician candidates will be expected to focus on clinical care while collaborating with other basic and clinical scientists who are interested in asking patient-oriented research questions in the pathogenesis, prediction, prevention and precision treatment of autoimmune rheumatic diseases. Successful clinical investigator candidates will be expected to develop extramural funding for their autoimmune-associated research program, as well as to collaborate with other basic and clinical scientists interested in asking patient-oriented research questions in rheumatic disease etiology and pathogenesis.
