The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of outpatient and inpatient Women’s cardiology focusing on sex-specific risk factors and conditions including those that affect pregnant and postpartum individuals as well as general (consultative) cardiology. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants should be board certified or board eligible in cardiovascular disease.

Teaching responsibilities may include the education of medical students, residents, cardiovascular fellows and advanced practice providers. Applicants are expected to contribute to the educational mission of the organization. The Academic Clinician track requires 100 credits per year of active and high quality teaching.

Clinical responsibilities may include attending on the inpatient and outpatient services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and associated practice sites. As the Women’s Cardiovascular Health Program is a part of the Consultative (general) Cardiology Section, candidates should be prepared to provide services for general cardiology patients based on the needs of the division. Opportunities for non-invasive imaging and clinical time with subspecialty programs will be considered on an individual basis taking into consideration applicant expertise and divisional priorities.

The selected candidate will be given ample opportunity to conduct clinical trials and receive mentorship to achieve clinical productivity with a goal of attaining both national and international prominence in the field. Members work collaboratively with obstetricians/gynecologists and maternal fetal medicine specialists as part of the Pregnancy and Heart disease program to provide exceptional care for pregnant and postpartum individuals with cardiovascular conditions or risk factors. The ideal candidate will be committed to the continued growth and clinical development of the division.

We seek candidates who embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense. The University of Pennsylvania is an EOE. Minorities/women/individuals with disabilities/protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
