SLUCare Physician Group, a member of SSM Health is seeking candidates for a full-time faculty position at the Division of Developmental - Behavioral Pediatrics, in the Department of Pediatrics.

The appointment is anticipated to be at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.

Rank and salary are dependent on qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will participate in the evaluation and management of the broad array of children with developmental disabilities in a multidisciplinary setting, and contribute to the teaching, academic and service missions of SSM Health.

The Division of Developmental Pediatrics currently consists of 4 faculty staff.

The Division has a busy outpatient service based in the SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, a 190 licensed bed, free-standing Children's Hospital affiliated with the Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

The Division is home to the only ACGME accredited Developmental Pediatrics fellowship program in the region and will welcome a fellow starting July 1, 2021.

The Division in involved in planning and ongoing intra and extra-mural funded clinical research projects. Opportunities are available for clinical and health outcomes research in collaboration with several academic units within the Department and University.

Excellent opportunities for teaching in both didactic and clinical settings are available at the medical student and post-graduate levels.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills to coordinate patient care in a high-volume outpatient clinic setting with sub-specialists.
  • Ability to lead an interdisciplinary provider team and work collaboratively with ancillary services within the SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital and affiliated SSM clinical sites.
  • Ability to teach and educate trainees and advanced practice providers.
  • Detail oriented and organized with excellent time management skills.


Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical services at the SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, Knights of Columbus Developmental Center, as designated by the Division Director
  • Provide timely and appropriate documentation of all services conducted on behalf of the Division.
  • Participate in Divisional educational conferences for trainees and staff and community providers as needed.
  • Participate in Divisional M&M conferences and present clinical cases allocated by clinical service time.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement projects as and when required in consultation with the Division Director.
  • Maintain all the board licensing and credentialing requirements to maintain privileges at each participating hospital.
  • Work closely with faculty mentors and the Division Director on the SLU academic portfolio.

Minimum qualifications
  • Board Certified in Developmental Pediatrics or related subspecialty or have appropriate clinical experience and expertise to qualify for subspecialty board certification.
  • Holding or eligible for a Missouri license
