UTMB was established in 1891 as the first academic health center in Texas and is a component of the University of Texas System. Today UTMB includes four schools (medicine, nursing, health professions and graduate biomedical sciences), a network of hospitals and clinics that provide a full range of primary and specialized medical care, and numerous research facilities. The Medical School enrolls 230 students per class and 1 in 6 Texas physicians have trained at UTMB. UTMB also provides medical services through our Community Based Clinics (CBC’s) which are located along the I-45 corridor, south of Houston in the cities of: Clear Lake, Friendswood, League City, Webster, Texas City, Lake Jackson, and Galveston.
UTMB Health Community Based Clinics (CBC’s) OBGYN Opportunity:
The UTMB Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking an OBGYN physician for UTMB’s Clear Lake, Texas campus. This is a unique opportunity to join one of the most respected and established OBGYN Clinical Academic Faculty Departments in the state, with plenty of room for advancement. There is ample opportunity for personal and career growth, all while practicing and living in one of the most desired locations, just south of Houston.
Responsibilities Include:
- Full Scope OBGYN, solely practicing in Clear Lake.
- 1:8 call, covering only 1 hospital.
- Some resident teaching in GYN cases only.
Highlights Include:
- In house anesthesia
- Level 2 NICU
- Designated OR time
- 4 NP’s to help support physician
- MFM and UROGYN support, GYN ONC available via main campus
- Certified surgical assist for OB and GYN cases
This is a clinical Faculty opportunity where Academic rank is based on qualifications and experience. All residents and in-practice physicians are encouraged to apply! These positions do not qualify for Visa sponsorship.
Candidate Requirements:
- M.D., D.O. from an accredited school.
- Board certification or Board eligibility in General OBGYN.
- Texas State Medical Licensure.
