The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking an exceptional clinician to join the Department of Women's Health as Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor with expertise in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology.  This person will be based at the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center with an academic appointment at the Penn State College of Medicine.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology encompasses the full range of subspecialties including specialists in Academic General Obstetrics and Gynecology (Women’s Health), Family Planning, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. The Department has an excellent relationship with Pediatric Endocrinology and Adolescent Medicine, including shared clinic time with board-certified Adolescent Medicine physicians and a robust adolescent and young adult gender dysphoria research and clinical care group. There is extensive opportunity for research and clinical collaboration across disciplines.
The Assistant / Associate Professor of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology will be responsible for providing evidence-based, multidisciplinary care for patients requiring pediatric gynecology services, educating the next generation of leaders in obstetrics and gynecology and contributing to investigation and discovery in the area of pediatric gynecology.

Position Highlights

  • Participation in the design, implementation and iteration of a value-based care in the area of pediatric and adolescent gynecology
  • Fostering care integration across the community and within hospital facilities at Penn State Health which currently includes 4 other hospitals in addition to the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center with a 5th hospital opening in late 2022.
  • Develop and build a focus of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology within the Division of Women’s Health with appropriate medical and surgical services
  • Participation in the development of cross-continuum, multidisciplinary care pathways for priority areas based on best-available clinical evidence, including referral guidelines for primary care providers and management guidelines for post-acute providers
  • Partnering with reproductive endocrinology and the cancer center to facilitate the development of a robust and comprehensive onco-fertility program
  • Developing partnerships with referring physicians, hospitals, and post-acute providers in South Central Pennsylvania
  • Training and mentoring medical students, residents and fellows on new models of care and clinical practice
  • Collaborating with other departments and at the Penn State College of Medicine and across the Penn State University system on multidisciplinary research.
  • Participating in the Labor and Delivery call pool at M.S. Hershey Medical Center

What we’re seeking:

  • MD, DO, or foreign equivalent
  • Completion of accredited training program
  • BC/BE OBGYN with fellowship training in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology
  • Eligible for appointment as an Assistant/Associate Professor/Professor
  • Commitment to leadership and achievement in academic medicine
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity
  • Ability to acquire a license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania
  • Must be able to obtain valid federal and state narcotics certificates
