Academic Geriatrics

Memorial Healthcare System, a leading 1,900-bed healthcare system located in South Florida, is seeking an academic geriatrician to join its GME program. In addition to working in an outpatient primary care clinic, the physician will assist in the training of IM residents and students from local medical schools, aid in the expansion and development of an ACE unit and related care at Memorial facilities and may also have the opportunity to assist in the development of a future geriatrics fellowship. Strong interpersonal and professional skills, and an understanding and willingness to practice in a family- and patient-centered care environment are also necessities of the position.

Memorial Healthcare System received institutional ACGME accreditation in August 2015 and currently accredits 14 ACGME training programs including the Internal Medicine residency. The geriatrician will be responsible for running our Internal Medicine residency geriatrics rotation. The MHS current strategic plan is to employ almost 300 trainees in approximately 15 residency and fellowship programs. This is a full-time employed position with the multi-specialty Memorial Physician Group. The position offers a competitive benefits and compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability is covered under sovereign immunity.
