Diagnostic Radiologist - Academic Opportunity - Northern California Awaits You
The VA Northern California Heath Care System is seeking a full-time General Diagnostic Radiologist at the Sacramento VA Medical Center in Mather, CA. The Department of Radiology at the VANCHCS is staffed by a dynamic group of fellowship-trained radiologists and employs state-of-the-art equipment in all imaging modalities. The Sacramento VAMC is an affiliate of the University of California at Davis Medical Center and serves as a major teaching hospital for resident training. Incumbent should be competent in all aspects of Diagnostic Radiology and comfortable with Body imaging, and Breast imagining.
Located between the Bay Area and Lake Tahoe, the Sacramento VAMC serves as the heart of the VA Northern California Health Care System. Sacramento is one of the most historic cities in California. Located at the confluence of the Sacramento River and American River, two hours between both San Francisco and Lake Tahoe, at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains with access to exceptional wine in Napa and Sonoma. TOUR OF DUTY: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 40hrs week negotiable 8 or 10-hour days; no on-call at present time
CANDIDATE MUST BE: 1) US Citizen or PRA, 2) BE/BC in Diagnostic Radiology, 3) Have a full, unrestricted medical license in any state and 4) confirm vaccination for seasonal influenza and Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), which are both requirements for all Health Care Personnel (HCP) employed by Department of Veterans Affairs. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Body and/or Breast fellowship training would be of added benefit, however, motivated general radiologists who are comfortable with all facets of general radiology are encouraged to apply.
INCENTIVES: Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) offers up to $200,000 over 5-years, tax-free. Eligibility to apply for EDRP does not guarantee acceptance into the program. Approval of EDRP award is subject to the availability of funding and other qualifying factors.
BENEFITS: 26 days paid vacation (1 day accrued each pay period upon employment); 13 days sick leave (1/2 day accrued each pay period upon employment, no cap); 11 paid Federal holidays/Competitive Salary/Malpractice protection with tail coverage covered by the Federal government/Annual Physician Performance Pay (Up to $15,000 possible)/CME- 1 week paid authorized absence to attend/No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
