Reconstructive Surgeon, Assistant/ Associate Professor (UML), Stanford's Division of Plastic Surgery

The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Stanford University seeks a full-time MD or MD/PhD, board-eligible or board-certified plastic surgeon with expertise in general reconstructive surgery to join the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the University Medical Line (UML). We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in basic science and clinical outcomes research to develop a robust research program with federal funding. Specialty training in micro or gender affirmation is preferable.  We expect the successful candidate to develop a practice at the Veterans Administration Palo Alto Healthcare System and Stanford Medicine. The compensation will be commensurate with credentials and experience.

The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the UML shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.  Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The activities of the Division are diverse and include adult and pediatric reconstructive surgery, an active research program with significant extramural funding, and a robust residency program. The breadth of the Division’s clinical and research programs, its participation in Stanford’s multidisciplinary cancer center, and the continued growth of all specialty programs offer the successful candidate unique opportunities to contribute to our success.
