Pediatric/Internal Medicine Physician

Primary Care Partners, LLC an affiliate of Atlantic Health System, seeks a Full-time, Physician for our Pediatric/Internal Medicine Care Center in Hackettstown, NJ.

Job Responsibilities

• Completes health assessment of patients by reviewing and collecting health history, performing physical exams, and using appropriate tests
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, such as x-rays or blood tests
• Initiate laboratory exams and studies as indicated
• Distinguishes between normal and abnormal findings and evaluates what findings need collaboration with members of the health care team or referral to other health professionals or appropriate community resources
• Arranges referrals for patients requiring services not offered at current practice
• Consults with and Refer to appropriate specialist in regards to high risk or complex patients
• Establishes a preliminary diagnosis and orders appropriate medical nursing therapies
• Documents patient's current health status and projects future health needs, recording a patient's progress
• Manages all acute and chronic illnesses to and above community standards at all times
• Prescribes medicine in accordance to New Jersey Statute and professional practice guidelines
• Completes insurance paperwork
• Communicates with all members of the health care team to assure a unified approach to the patient's plan of care
• Applies the knowledge and skills needed to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients
• Identifies opportunities for improvement in the structure and process of care delivery and makes recommendation for change
• Assists in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested
• Serves as attending for physician’s assistants and nursing staff

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of medicine
• Minimum two to five years of professional experience, preferably in a pediatric/internal medicine office setting 
• Excellent oral/written communication skills
• Previous electronic medical records experience highly preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, behavioral factors, diagnostic testing, interpretation of results and clinical decision making
• Familiarity with health care systems, regulations, policies, and functions. Understanding of documentation standards
• Knowledge of medical equipment, instruments, supplies, and materials needed for medical treatment
• Understanding of basic laboratory procedures including preparation and screening
• Knowledge of infectious disease management and control and safety standards to maintain a safe work environment

Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations

• CPR certification required and maintained (adult, child, and infant)
• Current BLS Certification
• Active New Jersey Medical License (MD or DO)
• Active DEA License

Compensation is based on experience.
