RWJBarnabas Health is New Jersey s largest integrated health care delivery system, and provides treatment and services to more than three million patients each year. We are the largest and most comprehensive health care system in the state of New Jersey, bringing the best of academic medicine, research and teaching, and community partners together to create healthier communities.

Rutgers Neurosurgery has a neurosurgical residency program, an endovascular and skull base fellowship program, and hosts a vast campus community with undergraduate and graduate medical training centers at New Jersey Medical School in Newark, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, and at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Across our campuses, there is a wealth of clinical material with basic and translational research resources along with opportunities to train neurosurgery residents, and to teach medical students and fellows.

The Department of Neurosurgery is recruiting a full-time Neurosurgeon in the field of Endovascular Neurosurgery to join our distinguished faculty of over 30 MDs and PhDs. The new faculty members will manage and build upon a thriving academic department at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank.

The RWJMS research department is headed by Dr. Detlev Boison, Professor & Vice Chair of Research & Training, and currently features a total of 7 R01 active grants and 1 DOD active grant among the research faculty. The following research programs are established within the Department of Neurosurgery: Epilepsy Research, Traumatic Brain Injury, Reynolds Family Spine Research Laboratory, Neuropathic Pain Research, Multiple Sclerosis, Neuroimaging, Neurostimulation, Cancer Research, and Clinical Trials. The candidates will be expected to contribute to clinical and educational activities with an emphasis on mentoring students and trainees. Prospective applicants interested in basic research will also be granted protected time to develop lab interests and acquire funding.

This location also presents as an ideal area to reside within close proximity to New York City, Philadelphia, and the famous Jersey Shore beaches!
