Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System and Spartanburg Medical Center Graduate Medical Education (GME) seeks a Program Director to develop and launch a new Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program.
Candidate qualifications:
- Current board certification by American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) or by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Must have a minimum of three years post-residency participation as an active faculty member in a leadership position of an ACGME-accredited OBGYN Residency Program
- Experience in clinical supervision of residents in an inpatient/outpatient setting
- Be willing to combine administrative, teaching, and clinical responsibilities
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Position Responsibilities:
- ACGME New Program application completion and accreditation approval
- Submit accurate and complete information required and requested by the DIO, GMEC and ACGME
- Day-to-day oversight of the OB/GYN residency program
- Managing the academic faculty and clinical program with authority to approve and remove program faculty
- Working with other departments and other clinical sites to develop and maintain appropriate clinical and educational rotations for the residents
- GME Committees/Meetings along with GME Lectures/Teaching Conferences
- Provide leadership and guidance to residents, role model of professionalism
- Resident recruitment and selection along with evaluation and promotion of residents
