Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology/Oncology/BMT, is seeking a full-time BC/BE pediatric hematologist/oncologist to join their team.

Loma Linda University Children's Hospital Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) program is accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) for its' highest quality patient care and lab performance. Our facilities have met rigorous standards as defined by the leading experts in the field. The BMT program averages about 20 transplants per year including (autologous, allogeneic, matched related, haplo-identical, matched unrelated, peripheral blood, bone marrow and cord blood transplants). The BMT Program contracts with National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) for unrelated donors and Children’s Hospital Orange County (CHOC) for stem cell processing and storage. Loma Linda has an onsite Apheresis Program that supports both the Children’s Hospital and Medical Center peripheral blood stem cell donors.

The inpatient BMT program resides on the Hematology/Oncology floor in the Children’s Hospital and is a 33 bed unit includes 8 rooms that are designated for BMT patients. The Hematology/Oncology bedside registered nurses are specially certified to care for BMT patients and families and include an annual evaluation to maintain certification.

The BMT program includes two attending physicians, two nurse practitioners as well as a pharmacist, outpatient nurse clinician, financial coordinator, research nurse coordinator, social worker and transplant nurse coordinator. Our team members are all actively involved participants throughout the transplant journey for our patients. Our team has led a number of staff to participate in both on and off campus bone marrow donor drives and holds an Annual Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Reunion. In 2021, this will be the program’s 12th reunion – a time in which all past transplant patients and their families are welcome back to celebrate their journey along the staff that walked it with them.
