The BMT Program contracts with National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) for unrelated donors and Children’s Hospital Orange County (CHOC) for stem cell processing and storage. Loma Linda has an onsite Apheresis Program that supports both the Children’s Hospital and Medical Center peripheral blood stem cell donors.

The inpatient BMT program resides on the Hematology/Oncology floor in the Children’s Hospital and is a 33 bed unit includes 8 rooms that are designated for BMT patients. The Hematology/Oncology bedside registered nurses are specially certified to care for BMT patients and families and include an annual evaluation to maintain certification.

The BMT program includes two attending physicians, two nurse practitioners as well as a pharmacist, outpatient nurse clinician, financial coordinator, research nurse coordinator, social worker and transplant nurse coordinator.
