Center for Indigenous Cancer Research

The Roswell Park Center for Indigenous Cancer Research (CICR) seeks an open rank (Assistant Member, Associate Member, or Full Professor) to lead and collaborate in projects across tribal and Native urban landscapes dedicated to student development, cancer education programs, and health related student internships as they relate to education, academic research, population science, and Indigenous Nations. Roswell Park is a vibrant, free-standing NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center dedicated to one shared mission: to understand, prevent and cure cancer. Roswell Park, America’s first cancer center, founded in 1898, is in Buffalo, New York and is the only upstate New York facility to hold the National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center designation.

The candidate we are searching for should be familiar with community-based and community-driven educational research process, education challenges, and concerns of Indigenous populations at the tribal, local, regional, national, and international levels across the cancer care continuum.

The candidate will work within the CICR in collaboration with the Center’s Community Advisory Board and existing partnerships. The candidate will also receive support for creating independent research and educational programming development. This candidate will be a member of Roswell’s Community Outreach and Engagement, and support building new partnerships toward community-based research and educational programming.  They will also work closely with the Roswell Park Education Department by leading CICR summer research programs. Ability to travel inter-tribally, regionally, nationally, and internationally is required.

Candidates must have a doctoral degree in Education or a related field, with a background in education service, program development, and research, demonstrating strong productivity commensurate with level of appointment. Selection will be based on excellence in research, education research, or service towards quality improvement in the field of education.

The successful candidate will receive a competitive start-up package and salary commensurate with their experience.
