Job Title: Assistant Professor, Clinical Faculty Appointment

The Department of Sarcoma Medical Oncology as part of the Division of Cancer Medicine invites applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor, Clinical Faculty Appointment (CFA) position. Physicians with strong clinical expertise and translational research interests in Sarcoma are encouraged to apply.  Responsibilities include providing patient care in outpatient and inpatient settings, participation in focused clinical and translational research, mentorship and training of fellows and other trainees, and contributions to the overall mission of the Sarcoma Medical Oncology and MD Anderson Cancer Center.

 

The successful candidate will have a background that demonstrates his/her ability to work synergistically with both clinical and laboratory-based faculty.  Applicants must possess a doctorate-level degree (D.O., M.D., M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent), be board-certified/eligible in Hematology, Medical Oncology, or Internal Medicine, and be eligible for licensure as a physician in the State of Texas.  At least 5 years’ experience post-degree with any combination of time as a clinician, clinical scientist or GME trainee.  Applicants should possess excellent writing and communication skills as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, presentation skills for professional meetings, and the potential ability to obtain extramural funding for clinical or translational research.
