A highly regarded pathology practice at MelroseWakefield Healthcare, now in partnership with Tufts Medical Center Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, is seeking a full-time pathologist, with experience in Hematopathology preferred.

The Department of Pathology is accredited by both the College of American Pathologists and the American Association of Blood Banks. The Anatomic Pathology service accessioned approximately 13,500 specimens in 2019 (pre-COVID pandemic), including a variety of biopsies, large surgical specimens, and approximately 25 bone marrow cases. There were over 11,000 GYN pap cytology and approximately 600 Non- GYN cytology cases in 2019 with GU and breast services expected to increase. The clinical laboratory services include clinical chemistry, hematology, transfusion services, microbiology, and among others.

How you'll transform patient care:
  • You'll participate in intraoperative consultations/frozen section, on-site FNA evaluation for interventional radiology procedures (CT, ultrasound, EBUS), and CP calls, mainly for the blood bank (pending level III trauma center application), and hematology
  • You'll participate in AP and CP calls, shared among all pathologists
  • You'll become a member of various medical staff and hospital committees, acting as liaisons between the medical staff, administration, and the laboratory
  • You'll have opportunities to participate in educational and teaching activities at Tufts Medical Center

Who you are:
  • BC/BE in AP/CP
  • Fellowship training in hematopathology and experience in surgical pathology are desirable
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with clinicians, administrators, and department staff
