Academic Endocrinology

• The physician will practice general endocrinology with the ability to teach and participate in clinical research.
• The clinic receives a wide variety of cases which makes for a well-rounded and diverse practice.
  • The practice is comprised of about 40% diabetes and rest is general endocrine including thyroid.
  • The advanced practice providers handle diabetes follow ups.
  • Henry Ford New Center One has one dietitian that practices three days per week, and Henry Ford Columbus has a dietitian on-site every day.
• Each physician is assigned a primary location and may be asked to split time to cover additional locations as needed.
  • Practice at 2 locations, HF Columbus and HF New Center One.
  • Physicians will be covering the Henry Ford Bloomfield Hills and Royal Oak locations about once per week by rotation in the near future.
• Schedule includes five days per week working at either the HF Columbus or HF New Center One locations.
  • The physician will work 16-18 days of clinic per month, seeing 16-17 patients per day.
    • New providers and fellows will have 60-minute appointments with new patients and 30 minutes for follow-ups until they are comfortable.
• Call is evenly distributed amongst the staff physicians and fellows in the group.
  • Providers will be on call a week at a time.
    • Thursday through Thursday, 9-10 weekends per year.
    • Phone calls are taken by the Fellows first and routed to the physicians when needed.
  • The physician will round at Henry Ford Hospital approximately ten weeks a year. In addition, the on call physician will be rounding at HF West Bloomfield Hospital 2-3 times per year.
  • The practice has two fellows per year. Fellows usually work 3-6 half days of clinic per week and rounds at Henry Ford Hospital.

Qualifications - External

• Must have completed an ACGME/AOA approved Internal Medicine residency program.
• Must have completed or currently completing an ACGME/AOA approved Endocrinology fellowship program.
