Albany Medical Center is seeking a full-time academic craniofacial surgeon to be the Director of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (ACPA) certified Cleft-Craniofacial Center at Albany Medical Center. Qualifications include fellowship training and the ability to lead the center. The Director will be responsible for the academic, clinical and educational activities of the program at Albany Medical Center and the Bernard & Millie Duker Children s Hospital at Albany Medical Center. The scope of responsibility includes leadership, recruitment and retention of an outstanding multidisciplinary cleft-craniofacial team, business development, strategic practice management and delivering high quality patient care. Albany Medical College boasts academic leadership opportunities through its plastic surgery residency program, its medical school, and opportunities for research. The Division of Plastic Surgery has an integrated residency program with 2 residents per year and is involved in medical student education and research. Qualified applicants should satisfy the criteria to be appointed as a faculty member with demonstrated commitment and excellence in aspects of our tripartite mission of clinical care, teaching, and research. The successful candidate will contribute to a collegial atmosphere and will be interested in collaboration. Required qualifications include an M.D. or D.O., successful completion of an approved Plastic Surgery residency program, board eligible/certified in plastic surgery, fellowship training in pediatric craniofacial surgery, hold or be able to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the state of New York. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected.
