University Physicians & Surgeons, Inc. d/b/a Marshall Health (3 positions available) for Geriatric Physician (Assistant Professor of Medicine) in WV.
Physician will provide eval & care as a faculty/attending physician for outpatients. Include clinical practice in Geriatrics & General Internal Medicine and resident or walk-in clinic coverage.
Physician will provide eval & care of patients as a faculty/attending physician at Cabell Huntington Hospital & St. Mary's Medical Center on the General Internal Medicine hospital teaching services, as assigned per the direction of the section chief.
Physician will initiate & complete research projects at the request of students, residents or faculty. In affiliation with Marshall University, duties include, supervision and instruction of medical students, residents, & fellows in skills associated with the professional practice of Geriatrics. Teaching per assignment by Section Chief, Geriatrics. Participate in rounds and present at one or more Medical Grand Rounds per year.
The minimum requirements are medical degree or foreign equivalent medical degree; Completion of Internal Medicine Residency; ABMS Board Certified in Internal Medicine; and completion of an ACGME-accredited Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine and is ABMS Board Eligible.
Apply for and successfully obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license as of the 1st day of employment.
Travel required on a weekly basis, 1-2 days/week to additional worksites at affiliated locations, (Erma Ora Byrd Clinical Center, Cabell Huntington Hospital, St. Mary’s Medical Center, and MU School of Medicine, in Huntington, WV, Center for Healthy Aging in Barboursville, WV, and Teays Valley in Scott Depot, WV, all within the employer’s MSA.
