The Washington D.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting a full-time academic Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist. We are an academic, teaching, high complexity medical center, affiliated with Georgetown and George Washington University Medical Centers. The ideal candidate is a BC/BE Gastroenterologist with a focus in Hepatology – including expertise in the care of patients with fatty liver disease, alcohol related liver disease, chronic hepatitis B and C, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. We welcome those with subspecialty interests such as inflammatory bowel disease, GI motility, or advanced/interventional endoscopy to apply as well.
You will participate in the care of both inpatients and outpatients and perform & supervise the following procedures: Colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy; Upper endoscopy with biopsy, polypectomy, balloon, and savory dilation; Familiarity with variceal banding & Video capsule endoscopy is required.

A competitive academic salary for the DMV area: $300K-$370K per year depending on qualifications
Annual performance bonus up to an additional $15K per year
Guaranteed salary increases
Licensure: 1 Full & unrestricted license from any US State is permissible to work at this facility
CME: $1,000 per year stipend (full-time employee) for reimbursement & 5 days paid absence for conferences, speaking engagements, etc.
Monday–Friday schedule—leave by 5PM most days
Minimal call, call supported with GI Fellows and technicians once every 6-7 weeks
Malpractice: Liability protection with tail coverage provided
No Physician Employment Contract
26 Days paid vacation PLUS 13 paid sick days per year with unlimited carry over
